How did you choose your derby name? Any special meaning?
Everybody was mispronouncing my last name and I explained that it is like House and Two in Spanish and they started calling me DosHOUSE. So at the end of my first season I changed it to DosHOUSE since that’s what they called me no matter what.
How did you get started playing derby?
I had a friend who was a Battle Broad and just got out of a long relationship and went to a BB bout in Marion and got hooked. I like to say the Battle Broads adopted me before the fresh meat season started. I tried to quit once and the Battle Broads had what I called a derby-vention and they scared me to coming back to practice.
Have you been on any other leagues besides SRG?
Nope! SRG ALL THE WAY.
What is the hardest moment you have overcome since joining derby? What have been some of your proudest derby accomplishments?
I want to say being captain last year was the hardest moments so far in my derby career, put me 100% out of my comfort zone. Last year at a bout I got thrown in as a jammer and stayed in the jammer rotation the whole bout and got no penalties. Another produt moment is when I am able to prove everybody wrong that doesn’t/didn’t think I could make it this far.
Who would you say is your biggest derby supporter or ‘superfan’?
I would say that I actually have two people who are my biggest super fan. My best friend Lee has watched me start as a fresh meat and has always came to my bouts and supported me. Then I have my crazy loud superfan David Kittle who everybody can hear at every bout screaming “DosHooooouuuussseeee!”
Have you had any injuries from playing roller derby?
I have severely bruised my tailbone and tweeted both of my knees.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I HATE the feeling of cotton and cotton balls. Bring those things near me and I will run away screaming.
What word or saying do you overuse?
